UNITAR International University has shaped up its industry linkages to provide some great opportunities to students in pursuit of industrial and practical training, internships and temporary and permanent job opportunities.  UNITAR International University has inked three memoranda of understanding with Maxis Berhad, Theme Attractions and Resorts Sdn Bhd and Boustead Hotels and Resorts Sdn Bhd.

All these agreements will benefit student greatly by providing a career pathway into the telecommunications and information technology sectors, the hospitality and tourism management sctor and even in the niche area of Early Childhood Education.

UNITAR International University CEO Wan Ahmad Saifuffin Wan Ahmad Radzi, said, “The world as we know it is rapidly changing, and UNITAR International University has the ambition to consistently rise to the occasion to offer the most cutting-edge and modern curricula in the industry.”  He added,”UNITAR is responding to the needs of curriculum changes by providing quality access to industry.”  Their partnerships with Maxis Bhd, Themed Attractions and Resorts Sdn Bhd group of companies such as Kidzania ad legoland, and now Boustead Hotels and Resorts Sdn Bhd, is evident of that fact.  “In simpler terms, we are bringing the industry into the classroom and the classroom to the industry.  Our teaching modules in UNITAR will be tailored specifically to the needs of our industry partner.”

The cooperation between two companies (UNITAR & Boustead) spans over three general agreements.  Firstly, it is the provision of the industrial and/or practical training by students of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of UNITAR International University.  Secondly, the MOU will provide the opportunity of full-time or part time employment to Diploma and degree graduates and/or undergraduates and third, the MOU serves the ultimate aim of providing permanent employment to Diploma and Degree graduates if UNITAR International University.

The collaboration between UNITAR International University and Maxis will be on six key areas, of which there are four different programmes – Maxis Scholarship programmes, Internship programmes, Sponsorship programme and the Entrepreneurship programme, and in two physical areas: Placement of a Maxis Service Counter (Distribution Point) at UNITAR’s new campus in Kelana Jaya and wifi hotspots at UNITAR’s main campus, and regional centres throughout Malaysia with the capacity of more than 5,000 students.

Under Themed Attractions projects, students will be provided with internship, part-time or permanent employment in KidZania Kuala Lumpur, Legoland Malasysia and Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park.  A key initiative of UNITAR is to provide high quality industry linkages, is to enable the students, a seamless and easy access to the working world.

UNITAR International University’a ambition is to produce employable graduates, who are thinkers and appliers of knowledge, with excellent communication skills, and at the same time, socially responsible for their actions.

The University offers degree programmes from a wide variety of fields like Business Administration, Information Technology, Education and Social Sciences, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Early Childhood Studies and as well as pre-university foundation programmes.
